Saratoga Springs, NY- Jeannette Jordan, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Home of the Good Shepherd where she resided since May.

Jeannette was a 1950 graduate of St Peter's Academy.  She also attended St Joseph's School of Nursing in Syracuse, NY. She was a stay at home Mom until 1973 when she went to work for The Saratogian Newspaper as a Proof Reader. It was at the Saratogian that she found her career. She held several positions, and eventually became the Feature's Editor. She authored the column "Inside Saratoga" that was popular with both local Saratoga residents as well as the summer crowd during race season. Her career gave her the opportunity to meet many celebrities, several of whom became lifelong friends. She was also the proud recipient of the Saratogian of the Year Award presented by the Rotary Club.

Jeannette was the daughter of the late Francis and Henrietta Bootier. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Augustus (Augie) Jordan and their four children; Carol Will of Woodstock, GA; Donna Malkowich (Dave) of Greenwood , IN; Paul Jordan of Palm Beach, FL and Daniel Jordan of Saratoga.  She had five grandchildren; Ryan Will (Laura) of Canton, GA; Kelly Meagher (Chuck) of Manasquan, NJ; Brett Malkowich (Suzanne) of Denver, CO; Lauren Dunlap (Brian) of Noblesville, IN and Gregory Jordan (Heather) of Sandy Springs, GA as well as 12 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Edith King (Bob) of Saratoga and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10am to Noon on Friday October 6, 2023 followed by a funeral home service at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
