Canandaigua, NY – Jeffrey "Jeff" Kyle Phillips went into the hands of the Lord joining his loving grandparents on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

Jeff was born on April 28, 1972 in Middletown, NY to his parents Bill and Joyce Phillips.  Jeff graduated from Hudson Falls High School and went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. Jeff served in many foreign lands and conflicts during his three plus years of service.

Upon his Honorable discharge from service Jeff went to Arizona to study motorcycle repair. Missing his family and friends, Jeff returned to New York and worked as a machinist. Jeff graduated from Machinist Curriculum at Adirondack Community College and continued machining for more than 15 years until injuries from his time serving our country made it impossible to continue.

Jeff moved to Canandaigua, NY to take advantage of Veterans programs offered there. Being an avid fisherman, and enjoying being in the outdoors, Jeff fell in love with the area. Jeff enjoyed golfing, hiking, and camping with the many new friends he made there.

In addition to his parents, Jeff leaves behind, to honor and cherish memories of him, his brother Billy, sister-in-law Katie, nephews Jack and Matthew, as well as his uncle, aunts, cousins, other family members and friends.

Jeff had the ability to light up the room wherever he went. There would always be a joke to tell, a prank to come and much laughter by all that were around him. Jeff was a compassionate caring person that was always ready to give someone, known or not, a hand up. One of his many motto's was "kindness counts".

Relatives and friends may call from 1 to 4pm Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373). A memorial of life service, officiated by Rev. Monty Robinson, will take place on Monday, April 29th at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with interment at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY to follow at 1:00 PM.  All are invited to attend.
