Greenfield Center, NY - It is with great sadness we announce the sudden death of our son, Jeffrey E. Townsend, 63, who passed away at his father's residence in Rotterdam, NY on Friday, May 11, 2018.

Born on May 24, 1954 in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of Ernest Townsend and the late Monica (Stapleton) Jump. Jeff was a graduate of St. Mary's School, Ballston Spa, was a member of the Class of 1972 at the former St. Peter's Academy (Saratoga Central Catholic) in Saratoga Springs and Hudson Valley Community College. At the time of his death he was employed as General Manager of the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa.

In addition to his father, Jeff is survived by his step-mother Flo; step-sister Sharon Relyea of Amsterdam, NY; his brother Thomas (Angela) Townsend of Jefferson City, MO and several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

A memorial celebration of Jeff's life will be announced at a later date.
