Saratoga Springs, NY - Jennie Swiatkowski, age 96, new resident of Saratoga Springs passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital. Community Hospice of Saratoga was a great comfort in caring for Jennie along with the staff at the hospital. Jennie was born in 1917, in Manhattan, New York City, to parents Anna and Edward, and had two brothers and a sister, all of whom predeceased her. She was a high school graduate who worked for a number of years as a secretary before marriage. Jennie was married for 34 years to Stanley, a World War II Marine Veteran, who also predeceased her many years ago. She lived her married and widowed life on Long Island until moving to Saratoga Springs this year. Jennie had been a member of Saints Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church in Deer Park on Long Island. Jennie is survived by her daughter and longtime caregiver Alexis Swiatkowski, her daughter Stephanie and husband John Hoff, her daughter Gloria and husband Peter Spina and her grandchildren Anthony and Vincent Spina and Claire and Stephen Hoff. Relatives and friends may call from 10:30am to 12:30pm Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (888-584-5373) with a Catholic service at the funeral home immediately following. Burial will be at the Gerald B.H.
