Saratoga Springs, NY- Jerry Stephen, Sr. (age 70) of Saratoga Springs, NY, passed away on April 27, 2023.

Jerry was born to Mildred K. Stephen and John J. Stephen, on January 23, 1953 in Olean, New York. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School, class of '72. Jerry worked for Saratoga Springs City Schools and Saratoga Bridges; before settling in his most beloved career as a volunteer firefighter with both Rock City Falls FD and Malta Ridge FD and Fire Investigator for Saratoga County.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Cate Stephen, his two sons, Jerry Stephen, Jr. and Josh Stephen (wife, Stephanie) and daughter Caitlin McCabe (husband, Brian). As well as his sister, Judy Holbrook (husband, Dean) and brother, James Stephen. Jerry's pride and joys were his grandchildren, Connor and Kenzie Stephen, Julien Stephen and Keegan and Shane McCabe; as well as several loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his sister, Margaret Stephen and brother, John Stephen.

For anyone who needed help, Jerry was always just a phone call away. He was the life of the party and always dancing with his wife, nieces, grandkids or daughter. Jerry loved golfing, fishing, Florida, beer and THE BILLS. His friends and family loved that you could hear Jerry a mile away, even when he was whispering. Jerry brought laughter to all even on their darkest days. He will be missed and loved by all for years to come.

On Thursday, May 4, 2023, Jerry will be remembered from 10:30am-12:30pm at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes.  Immediately following at 1:00pm a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clements Church, Lake Ave.  Burial will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.

In lieu of flowers, a monetary donation can be sent to Malta Ridge Fire Company (Toys for Tots) or After the Fire, Inc.
