Saratoga Springs - Joan M. Jillson (Lehman), 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2024 following a brief illness.

Joan was the devoted wife of Robert Jillson Sr. for over 59 years. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Andrews) Lehman. After graduating Warwick High School in 1961, Joan met the love of her life, Robert, and they married in 1965. Together, they raised their family in Rhode Island before relocating to Saratoga Springs in 1979, where she made her home for the remainder of her life.

Joan had a distinguished career, working for 36 years at Saratoga Hospital until her retirement in 2018. In addition to her full-time work, she spent over 25 years part-time at the J.C. Penney store in the Wilton Mall. Throughout her life, Joan also found time to volunteer for numerous events at Saratoga Hospital, offering her time and energy to causes close to her heart.

Joan was a loving mother to her son, Robert Jillson Jr. (Michele), and her daughter, Kristine Robinson, both of Saratoga Springs. She also leaves behind her four cherished granddaughters; Elena and Natalie Jillson, and Anna and Erin Robinson. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Gardner, of Warwick, Rhode Island.

Known for her warmth, generosity, and vibrant spirit, Joan was a friend to all who knew her. Joan also had a deep love for the ocean and cherished her many years of cruises and beach vacations, which brought her great joy.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 6, 2024 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Burial will follow at 12:30 PM at the Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville.
