Saratoga Springs, NY- Joan K. Saxton, 78, passed away peacefully on March 29,2022 at the Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

Born in Saratoga Springs, NY on November 17, 1943 she was the daughter of the late, Norbert "Red" and Dorothy (Cole) Saxton. Joan was a graduate of Saratoga Central Catholic School. After graduation, she entered the workforce at Van Raalte Knitting Mill in Saratoga Springs, she was a seamstress at SueCraft, a chamber maid at the Sheraton on Broadway and also worked at the Saratoga Senior Center.

She enjoyed camping with her companion Fred at Cold Brook Campgrounds in Wilton, NY. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her and her twin sister, Joyce made many memories together, going out to eat, camping, working and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her longtime companions, John Gailor and Fred LaRouech; her brother, Norbert (Skip) Saxton; and her sister, Sharon Herrington.

Survivors include her daughter, Loralee (Bruce) Thomas; her grandchildren, Michael DeMers (Alyssa), Kurt Thomas (Nydia), John Thomas (Kirsten) and Alisha (Sean) Sprauge; her greatgrandchildren, Carter and Novella Sprauge, Leon and Bellona Thomas and Alena DeMers; her siblings, Joyce, Robert, Nancy, Wayne, Kevin, Carol and Linda; several nieces and nephews; as well as her favorite dog, Ruby.

Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
