Schuylerville - Joann Shirley age 65 passed unexpectedly on March 21, 2025.

Joann was born in Saratoga Springs on February 4, 1960, the daughter of the late Paul and Janice (Sorensen) Woodley of Saratoga Springs, NY.

She was married to the late Robert Bruce Shirley II for over 20 years, they resided in Schuylerville.

Joann was retired from Schuylerville Central High School where she worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Pupil Services for 23 years. Joann was loved by many within the school district and devoted herself to making a difference within her career. After retiring from Schuylerville Central School Joann began working as a Daycare Aid at Miss Krissy's Playhouse where she found joy in caring for the children.

Joann was a devoted and loving wife, mother, aunt and great aunt. Joann enjoyed a simple life with her family, friends and beloved Goldendoodle, Bo, by her side.

Joann will be remembered fondly by her family including her two kids, Robert Bruce Shirley III of Jersey City, NJ and Jessalyn Shirley of Queensbury, NY; siblings, Constance (Donald) of Chesapeake, VA, Rebecca (Craig) Ritter of Spring, TX, and Douglas Woodley and his Fiancee Deborah Riegel Round Lake, NY; nieces and nephews, Samantha Bowers, George Buchholz, Julianna DuRose, and Sarah Lodico; great nieces and nephews, Andrew, Morgan and Sarah Buchholz, Aiden and Regan DuRose, Lauren Mendez, Alyse and Dean Bowers, Gavin and Grant Lodico and many friends.

Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 to 12:00 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.  A funeral home service will follow at 12:00 PM.
