Obituary

Middle Grove - John A. Jordan, Jr., age 90, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2025, at the Joan Nicole Prince Hospice Home.

John was born on June 7, 1934, in Ballston Spa, NY, the son of John Albert Jordan and Margaret Lynch. He was raised in Saratoga Springs, where he developed a lifelong love for the community that would eventually welcome him home in retirement.

After graduating from St. Peter's High School, John enlisted in the United States Army. Following his service, he pursued higher education, earning an engineering degree from Michigan State University and later a law degree from the University of Baltimore.

In 1967, John began a distinguished career with IBM as a patent attorney, a role he held until his retirement in 1998. Though his professional journey took him to Somers, NY, where he and his family spent many years, he returned to his cherished hometown of Saratoga Springs later in life.

John was deeply engaged in civic life, serving with dedication as a councilman on both the Somers Town Board and the Greenfield Town Board. He believed in the importance of public service and contributed meaningfully to the communities he called home.

On July 7, 1960, John married Catherine M. Moore, with whom he shared many loving years until her passing on November 3, 1987. He later found love again and married Anna H. Lemley on April 22, 1989, who survives him.

John is also survived by his children, Mark Jordan (Laurie), Jack Jordan, Susan Murray (Steve), Michael Jordan (Stephanie), Richard Lemley (Brandi), Gregory Lemley, and Laura Kline (Richard). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Emma Clark (Benjamin), Sarah Jordan (James), Quinn Jordan, Will Jordan, Colin Murray, Patrick Murray, Mikaela Jordan (Mackenzie), Callan Jordan, Liam Jordan (Katie), Asher Nelligan (Shay), Ari Nelligan, Kai Kline, Noah Kline, Richard Lemley, Jr., Jennifer Lemley, Kaitlyn Lemley, Laya Lemley and Caleb Lemley.

He will be remembered for his sharp intellect, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family and community. John's life was marked by service, wisdom, and love. His presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will be cherished by all who knew him.
