Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania on July 9, 1952, he was the son of Jack and Jean (Shroth) Andrews. John grew up in Jamestown, NY and was a graduate of Jamestown HS. He attended SUNY Oswego where he achieved a BA and MA in Psychology. Following graduation he worked as a rehab counselor for Chattaqua County Drug and Alcohol Services. He then took a job with Procter & Gamble followed by many other jobs in the food industry including General Foods and Sleeman Brewery where he acted as East Coast Manager. John then started his own food marketing company named Focus Marketing. For the last several years he had been employed as a Brand Manager for A.L. George Co. out of Binghamton and Syracuse.
John married Roxanne (Hoeffner) Andrews in 1976. They have two sons, Benjamin and Jonathan. He is also survived by his father John (Georgina) Andrews, sister Linda (Tim) Sagurney, brother James (Amy) Andrews, and many cousins, nieces and nephews all from the Jamestown area.
John was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Greenfield. There he held a position of Church Trustee and was a Eucharistic Minister. His devotion to his Church and Church family was an integral part of John's life.
John's favorite pastime was golf. He was a member of the Ballston Spa CC for almost 20 years. He loved his league night and golf buddies and revelled in his "sandbagger" status. Most people would have been embarrassed by the title but John wore it as a badge of honor. His favorite quote was "I don't have any friends", yet never was a man blessed with so many.
