Saratoga Springs, NY - John H. Bradley, of Lawrence St., passed away Wednesday (Aug. 25, 2010) at the Wesley Health Care Center. He was 90. Born on Jan. 31, 1920 in Gloversville, NY, he was a son of the late William A. and Charlotte R. (Holness) Bradley. A US Army Air Corp veteran, he served as a first Sergeant during World War Two and had been a member of the Air Force Choral Society/Glee Club. Employed for 36 years by General Electric at their Silicone plant in Waterford, he retired as a chemical technician and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. John was a 43 year resident of Stillwater and was a member of the committee that established the Stillwater United Presbyterian Church; he served as an elder, Sunday school teacher and a member of the church choir. A founding member and former secretary/treasurer of the Arvin Hart Fire Company in Stillwater, he also attended the Old Saratoga Reformed Church in Schuylerville. An avid and gifted singer, he sang at numerous weddings and social gatherings in the area for many years and he also sang with the Mendelssohn Choral Society in Albany and the Saratoga Barbershoppers (now known as the Racing City Chorus). Other interests included outdoor activities, hiking, traveling and sailing with his wife. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers, George, William A. and Miles D. Bradley and two sisters, Harriet Bradley Stamm and Charlotte Rose DeLong. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Pauline M. (Sands) Bradley, whom he married on March 20, 1943; his son, Rev. John (Joan) Bradley of Caladonia, OH and a daughter, Toni Salerno of Corinth, NY; several grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. There will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Saturday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, 584-5373. The Rev. Charles Bailey will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the family plot in Stillwater Union Cemetery.
