Saratoga Springs, NY - John D. Connery of Catherine Street, passed away Thursday May 6, 2010 with his family by his side at Saratoga Hospital. He was 85. Born on April 12, 1925 in Oneonta, NY, he was the son of the late John J. and Agnes Ide Connery. John was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked 32 years as a graphic manager for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen in Albany. John was a communicant of St. Clement's Church. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sisters, May Gass, Joan Brucker, Johanna LeDuc; his niece Antonia Dziedzic Hudson and very good friend Steven Dellaquila. Survivors include a cousin, Marie Bush Dellaquila of Fairport, NY; nephews, Timothy James of Saratoga Springs, Stanley Dziedzic of Florida, Joseph LeDuc of Laurens, NY; nieces, Jamie James Damm of Florida, Joan Dziedzic Farnum of Ballston Spa and Shaun Dziedzic of Switzerland and many great nieces, nephews and friends. Relatives and friends may call from 10am to noon Monday May 10, 2010 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373), followed by a funeral service at 12noon. Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Avenue.
