Saratoga Springs - John Joseph “Jack” Robson, Jr., 93, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dee; he is survived by his three children, Jack (Pam) Robson of Clifton Park, NY, Barbara Robson of Waterford, NY, and Patti (Warren) Shaw of Clifton Park, NY. He was also the proud Papa of nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Jack grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Erasmus Hall High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served during the Korean War as a Seabee. During his service, he worked on the design and construction of many projects in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Africa and earned the respect of those around him through his dedication, talent, and leadership. One of Jack’s greatest passions was baseball. A gifted athlete from a young age, he played throughout New York City and went on to become a star pitcher for the Navy during his years of service.
While stationed in Rhode Island, he met the girl of his dreams. He asked Dee to dance, and a love story that would last a lifetime and beyond began. Jack and Dee were married on October 15, 1955.
Jack was a planner, a saver, and a dreamer. Through hard work and determination, he and Dee purchased their first home in Valley Stream, Long Island, in 1956. There, they built their life together with their children Jack, Barbara, and Patti.
Jack went on to become a highly respected civil engineer and prominent businessman. He was a founding partner of Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., where he enjoyed a long and successful career and earned the admiration of colleagues and peers throughout the industry.
Nothing meant more to Jack than his role as husband, father, papa, and great-grandfather. He led with quiet strength, gently guiding those he loved with wisdom, patience, and compassion, always showing up with steadfast love and support. He taught those around him many things, but above all else, he taught the enduring lesson of love — through his actions, his example, and the family he cherished so deeply.
