Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY- John L. "Jack" Sullivan Jr., 78 of Gansevoort, NY passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021 in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Jack was born on November 24, 1942 in Saratoga Springs, NY to John L. Sullivan Sr. and Elizabeth (Carroll) Sullivan. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1960. Jack was formerly married to Karen (Kendall) Sullivan and resided in Gansevoort, NY until his death. Jack graduated from the Coastal School of Deep-Sea Diving in Oakland California, the only commercial diving school in the world at that time. His greatest thrill was to dive to the depth of 170 feet below the surface. He was a member of the IBEW and worked for Niagara Mohawk for 45 years as a lineman. He was also a professional snowmobile racer for R&M Enterprises and John and Millie Rieger of Fort Miller, NY. He only raced and drove Artic Cat snowmobiles. He was Team Cat; all the way. Jack was a member of Pine Knolls Alliance Church and St. Clements Catholic Church where he helped at the food pantries.

He is survived by his daughter Kimberly E. Sullivan of Troy and his son John T. Sullivan of Saratoga Springs, longtime family friend Nancy LaBarge of Glens Falls, several nieces and nephews and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Kathleen (Farone) LeRoux and three nephews.

There will be no calling hours.  A graveside service will be held on Friday January 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, NY.  A memorial service will be held in the future. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

A Memorial Service will be held, Friday August 27, 2021 at 11am St. Clements Church, 231 Lake Ave. Reception immediately following at The Elk's Club Maple Ave. Saratoga Springs.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pine Knolls Alliance Church Food Pantry, South Glens Falls, NY, or to St. Clements Church Food Pantry, Saratoga Springs, NY.

The family would like to give a special heart felt thank you to the Nursing Staff at the Saratoga Hospital for their exceptional care of our Dad and of our family during this most difficult time.
