Saratoga Springs, NY- John David Lynett, 77, of West Circular St. and formerly of Lincoln Avenue passed away unexpectedly on January 9, 2023.

Born on February 5, 1945 in Saratoga Springs NY, he was the son of the late John J. and Mary (Doherty) Lynett. Known to family and friends as Dave, he was a graduate of St. Peters Academy and St. John Fisher University before joining the United States Navy and serving until 1969. After being honorably discharged he was employed by the Golub Corporation in management and subsequently with Saratoga County Department of Social Services. Although Dave served the public in many capacities his most recent job was the one that brought him the most joy. Dave was a lifelong fan of thoroughbred racing and his passion for "the sport of kings" led him to a job for NYRA as a clocker during early morning workouts at the Oklahoma Track.

In addition to his parents Dave was predeceased by a sister Barbara Cudney in 2017 and a brother Peter in 2012.

Survivors include 5 children, Kelly A. Lynett (Vincent), Sean D. Lynett, Colleen Lynett,    Patrick J. Lynett and Timothy M. Lynett (Erin).Also surviving him are 6 grandchildren, Dylane, Kiernan, Evan, Kaelin, Connor, Kellan ,a great grandson Kairo, a brother Michael(Rosemarie)and  many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4-7 PM on Thursday January 19, 2023 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Burial with full military honors will be held on Friday January 20, 2023 at 10:30 AM in Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.

A celebration of life will occur at 1pm at the Italian American Club, 247 Grand Avenue, Saratoga Springs NY following the burial.
