South Glens Falls/Wilton-John R. Monroe, 50, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
Born on October 3, 1967 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Constance T. Monroe and the late John R. Monroe and was a graduate of Saratoga High School. John had a laugh that will never be forgotten. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, BBQ's, being outside and also listening to music all night long. His new found love was playing his drums and guitars. John was an avid baseball fan of the New York Yankees. He was a member and treasurer of the True Order Motorcycle Club which he truly loved being a part of. He loved riding his Harley Davidson, four wheeling, snowmobiling, horse racing and darts. He was an exceptional pool shooter, having won several tournaments. John was the highlight of every party and lived life to the fullest. His motto was, "Don't shed a tear just crack a beer!"
John is predeceased by his brother Jason and his grandparents, Helene (Papol) and William Tracy and Jack and Helen (Bennett) Monroe.
Survivors include his mother Constance; his brother Michael (Nicole) and his fiancé Jeannie Yorck; his beloved nephew Michael John; nephews Justin and Walter and his niece Cassidie; several cousins; two Aunts (Marion and Dora) and his Uncle Willie (DiAnne) as well as several friends and motorcycle brothers.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11am Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373). A funeral home service will follow at 11am and burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
