IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John "Lumpy"
Prevost
October 18, 1967 – April 12, 2025
Saratoga Springs, NY- John "Lumpy" Prevost, 57 of Saratoga Springs passed away on April 12, 2025, at Saratoga Hospital after a brief battle with cancer with his family and friends by his side.
Born on October 18, 1967, he was the son of Marietta Prevost of Glens Falls, NY. Lumpy attended and graduated from Glens Falls High School where he played left tackle and wore the number 73. He then went on to graduate from Canisius University. If asked to this day, he could still spell Canisius. He worked for Finch Pruyn for many years, then went on to work for Saratoga Eagle Distributors with his trusty hand cart Leroy. Currently he was employed by the City of Saratoga Springs DPW, where he was teased by his coworkers and friends as being a bad hire.
Lumpy was a man of great adventures and loved taking people to new places on motorcycle rides where he would yell "lead change" often. He also enjoyed solo rides on his Harley where he had no real destination.
He was the life of any party singing and dancing to the song Ring of Fire, twerking and "putting the girls in". He always had a good joke to tell or maybe a new dirty song to listen to. Every few months he would throw a "sausage party" where him and some of his friends would make homemade sausage.
Lumpy was an avid bowler who had multiple 300 games. He also enjoyed shooting darts, skiing, snowmobiling and hunting to see how high he could get his squirrel count every year. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ballston Spa Elks Lodge and the Italian American War Veterans.
The biggest question everyone would ask Lumpy is when he planned to marry his fiancé Jan. His answer was always "May. May the day never come." Well as it turns out they were married privately on March 6, 1999, in Congress Park during a snowstorm. The best kept secret around.
Lumpy is predeceased by his nephew Alex Prevost and brother-in-law Mark Terrell. He is survived by his mother Marietta Prevost of Glens Falls, his WIFE Janet "Ginger Mable" Terrell of Saratoga Springs, his brother Mark Prevost of Glens Falls, and his sister-in-law Lori Terrell of Saratoga Springs. He is also survived by his 3 nieces whom he cherished, Meghan Terrell and Caitlin Klaus both of Saratoga Springs and Ashley Prevost of Glens Falls. As well as many friends, some of whom he has known for decades and some he just made this week.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 3 pm to 6 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518) 584-5373. A Funeral Home Service will follow at 6 pm. An Elks service will be at 5 pm.
