Porter Corners, NY - John Theodore Roxbury of Allen Road, passed away Friday (Apr. 3, 2009) at his residence. He was 40. Born on June 9, 1968 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of Robert and Margaret (Menshausen) Roxbury. John's life was fulfilled by the outdoors. An avid skier, fisherman and hiker, he dreamed of one day walking the Long Trail, and could often be found hiking and being one with nature, with his faithful K-9 Brewster at his side. John loved the woods, forest and mountains and routinely photographed the places he would go and he also was an enthusiastic hockey and baseball fan. It was important for him to show others the special private places he found his peace. For many years John worked as a master auto body mechanic and often it was his advice that fixed that car or got the problem figured out. John was a 1986 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and graduated from Wyoming Technical Institute in 1987. In addition to his loving parents, John is survived by his sister, Alicia and brother-in-law Dan Tuller; his daughter, Crystal Ilene Roxbury and her fianc Ron Parker of Corinth; a step-son, Jeffrey Armstrong of Corinth and his special little granddaughter, Anna Belle. John will be loved and missed by his longtime companion and fianc, Kimberly Zupan as well as his niece, Caitlind, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends at home and around the country. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Monday (April 6, 2009) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A funeral service will follow at 8 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Middle Grove Cemetery.
