Ballston Lake, NY- John S. Zabielski passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
John was born to Bronislaw and Rozalia (Wrobel) Zabielski on August 16, 1937 in Schenectady, NY. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and attended college earning a degree in liberal arts. Soon after that, he enlisted in the US Army with the 7th Artillery Battalion where he earned the status of a decorated sharpshooter. He was married to the love of his life, his wife, Sandra. Together they shared four handsome sons, and a beautiful life together. He established a wonderful career with UPS where he met many new friends. John retired with over his 35 years of service and went on to enjoy his life.
John loved sports, fishing, hunting, horses, the casinos, and absolutely adored his grandchildren, and loved to spoil them. He enjoyed attending their sporting events and other activities, and enjoyed taking them fishing. He had a thirst for life always finding the positives, and loved sharing a good story.
John lived in Arizona for five years, where he made many friends and really enjoyed the climate and all that Arizona had to offer.
John was a loving son, great brother, caring and doting husband, amazing father, wonderful grandfather and great grandfather (known as Poppy), uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to many. He will be missed dearly.
He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Sandra, his beloved son, David, his mother, Rozalia, his father Bronislaw, his brothers, Victor and Bernie, and sister, Clara.
He is survived by his sons, Paul (Kimberly), John (Rebecca), Mark (Michele), grandchildren, Lisa, Philip, Brendon, Anthony, Nicole, Abigail, Nicholas, great grandchildren, Madelyn, and Mario, sister-in-law Charlene, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
At the request of the family, there will be no services or calling hours. There will be a private family gathering with John being laid to rest with military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
