Joseph James Ryan Jr. of Trottingham Road, Saratoga passed away Friday, Nov 2, 2018.
Born on April 21, 1942 in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Catherine (O'Brien) Ryan, Sr.
A graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, he was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his six grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary W. Ryan whom he married on Dec. 15, 1962 and two brothers-in-law George C. and John R. Williams.
Survivors include four children, Deborah (Joseph) Sorrentino of Buffalo and Michael (Holly) Ryan, Kristin Ryan and Jill (Brian) McCoskey, all of Saratoga Springs; six grandchildren, Amanda and Sarah Ryan, Blade and Chase Sorrentino and Megan and Ryan McCoskey; a sister, Kathy (John) Ryan; a brother, James Ryan; a sister-in-law Lois Williams and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private with burial following in St. Peter's Cemetery, Saratoga Springs.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373).
