Saratoga Springs, NY Josephine Josie Wasner passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at Wesley Health Care Center, after a short illness. She was 87. Born on March 19, 1925 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Anna Podesva. Josie was a long time resident of Greenfield Center, moving there as a young child with her family. She was a vibrant , busy woman for most of her life. As a family care provider for the Capital District DDSO, she cared for four individuals in her home at one time. Josie was dedicated to them and continued to care for Ray until she became ill a few years ago. Josie loved her home and spent many hours working in her garden. She also enjoyed crafts. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Kenneth Wasner and her four brothers, Edward, Ernest Jr., Paul and Albert Podesva. Survivors include many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Josie enjoyed being with her family and will be missed by all, especially for her wonderful sense of humor and the love of family. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Monday, April 9, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
