Saratoga Springs, NY- Joyce Volpe, age 91, passed away peacefully in Saratoga Springs, NY on December 7, 2020 after a brief illness.

Joyce was born September 13, 1929 in Saragosa, Texas. Joyce joined the Air Force after graduating High School in 1949. She was stationed in Alabama. It was there that she met the love of her life, Michael Volpe. They married in August 1950. Joyce and Michael were happily married for 69 years. Michael preceded her in death in 2019. Joyce and Michael spent many beautiful years enjoying their retirement together in Florida. Joyce loved to swim, socialize with her many friends and was a talented and avid quilter. Joyce made dozens of quilts for her family, each one unique, beautiful and filled with her love for her family. More than anything, Joyce loved her family. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was her biggest joy.

Joyce is survived by her four children, Nick Volpe (Peggy), Karen Franciola (Gary), Mike Volpe Jr (Jean), and Kathryn Shelton (Kevin); grandchildren Michele Newell (James), Nicholas Volpe Jr, Parker Volpe (Lara), Nicole Franciola (Justin), Kristin Staalesen (Pat), Karissa Shelton (John) and Haley Shelton; and great grandchildren Emma, Greylin and Luke.

A private service will be held in Spring Hill, Florida.  Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home. 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
