Saratoga Springs, NY – Judith A. Craven passed away Monday August 9, 2021 at her home. She was 74.

Born December 1, 1946 in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace Burk Barry. She resided in Boston for 40 years before moving to Saratoga Springs in 1992.

Judith attended Suffolk University in Boston, and was awarded her Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University in 1977. From 1977 to 1987 she served as a private Attorney at Law, Assistant District Attorney for the City of Boston, and Defense Attorney for Abused Children in the Boston Juvenile Court in the City of Boston. Judith was appointed as Justice of the Peace for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in May of 1982. She wrote miscellaneous law books for a major publisher from 1983 to 1989. Her work centered on the legal content of rulings made by judges at all levels when rendering their final decisions.

She is survived by her husband, David Kieserman and his two daughters, Esther Kieserman Deck and Rachel Kieserman Smith and a cousin, Dorothy Shelton.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2pm to 4pm Monday August 23, 2021 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (518-584-5373). A service of remembrance will follow at 4pm. Appropriate face coverings will be required.
