Greenfield Center, NY - Judith Ann Pasek Porter, 79, passed away at home on November 16, 2021 following a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Saratoga Springs, NY, Judy was the daughter of the late Michael Peter Pasek and Helen Schwartz.  She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence R. Porter, Jr., in 2017.

Judy was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, Class of 1959. She studied nursing at Albany Medical Center School of Nursing before marrying her sweetheart, Larry, in 1961. After becoming a mother in 1962 and again in 1965, Judy was active raising her children and dedicating her time attending school functions and being a member of the Greenfield Center School PTA. Judy held various occupations in addition to being a mom. She worked at the Gideon Putnam Hotel, was a teller at the State Bank of Albany in Saratoga Springs, and enjoyed a long career at Skidmore College where she was employed in the Campus Bookstore, the Accounts Payable department, and was Head of Procurement for Skidmore College Food Services. She had a very strong faith and was an active and life-long communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Greenfield Center. Judy was the center of all family holiday activities and could always be counted on to host parties and meals in the family home. With her husband she loved to entertain friends and family from near and far, often hosting class reunion parties, neighborhood cookouts, and traditional Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve festivities. She enjoyed spending summer vacations in Old Orchard Beach, ME, and she made the best macaroni and cheese.

Judy is survived by her daughter Lori Michele Porter (Mark Baird) of Indian Lake; son Lawrence Michael (Lisa) Porter of Hiram, OH; granddaughters Lindsay (Matthew) Hastings of Medina, OH, and Rebecca Porter of Lakewood, OH; sister Nancy Pasek (Richard) Storch of Gansevoort, NY; dear friends Jon (Karen) Foster of Greenfield Center, Wesley (Kitty) Rumpf of Greenfield Center, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends may call from 10am to 12noon Saturday November 20, 2021 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373). A funeral service by the Rev. Simon Udemgba, Ph. D. will follow at 12noon.

Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
