Saratoga Springs, NY - Juliet (nee Tarra) Brown died August 10, 2014 at Wesley Health Care Center. Born on Feb. 16, 1923 in Bayshore, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine (Struhar) Tarra. Juliet was a longtime resident of North Babylon, NY and a graduate of Bay Shore High School Class of 1940. She was a proud World War II veteran of the US Navy, having achieved the rank of Yeoman 2nd Class and served in part at the US Pentagon. Juliet relocated to Saratoga Springs about 10 years ago. In addition to being the beloved wife of the late Louis A. Brown, Juliet was predeceased by her brothers Frederick, Albert and Charles Tarra. She is the cherished mother of Judy Weymouth (Terry); Roger (Linda); Arlene (Frank Cipriano) and Joyce; grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 6. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Robert A. Brown and many nieces and nephews, especially beloved by her niece Nancy Tarra and her cousin, Frank Struhar. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014 at The Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway. Burial with military honors will be at 11:30am Friday, Aug. 15, 2014 at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY. Juliet's family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff at the Wesley Health Care Center and especially to the staff on 3 Springs for their unending affection and superlative care taking of Juliet during her residence there, and to Diane Westbrook, RN for her care and counsel.
