Saratoga Springs, NY - Mrs. Jung Sim Choe (Butkus), who was known as Sera to her friends and relatives, age 40, and current resident of Saratoga Springs passed away peacefully on Feb 13, 2010 at home following a courageous three and half year battle with breast cancer. Born on April 17, 1969 in Incheon Korea, she is the daughter of Young Hoon Choe (father) and Yong Il Koo (mother). United in marriage with James Butkus on July 18, 1994 in Korea, she has been residing with her husband at various international locations including Korea, China, Hong Kong, Wales, Holland, and Singapore before arriving in the USA in August, 2009. She gave birth to her daughter, Catherine in Hong Kong on December 7, 1994. She enjoyed providing the loving support of being a mother and housewife. Her main hobbies included reading, cooking Korean and international dishes and being an active fitness enthusiast in her desire to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Survivors include her husband, James Butkus, formerly of Amsterdam, NY; her daughter, Catherine Butkus and both currently residing in Saratoga Springs; her dear father and mother as above, dear brother Jung Bok Choe and his family and her dear sisters, Su Yun Choe and Ok Sim Choe and their families, including several nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom reside in Korea; her three step children who reside in Norway, Aina, Stephen and Maria Butkus; and through Jung Sims marriage to James, her beloved in-laws, (mother and father to James), whom are both now deceased have been very dear to her heart; her brother and sister in laws, David and Patricia Butkus and their family, including a niece and nephew; and a special cousin, aunt and their family. All of whom are formerly from Amsterdam and now residing in other locations within the State of New York. In addition, from her international travels, numerous friends and acquaintances; and work colleagues of James. Jung Sims wish was to be cremated and her funeral service will be held at the William J Burke and Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 5 to 7:00 pm. A special prayer service will be given by Marianne Tynan at 6:30 pm.
