IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kaitlin Marie
Bowman
August 2, 2005 – January 30, 2019
Corinth, NY - On January 30, 2019 our angel, Kaitlin Marie Bowman, 13, surrounded by her loving family, shed the bonds of Batten's disease and made her way to heaven.
Since coming into the world August 2, 2005, she has been the shining light in the lives of her parents Rebecca (Jeffrey Manning) and Jason (Aubrey) Bowman and was big sister to Elizabeth Grace. Kaitlin hit all of her milestones, loved books, Dora the Explorer, playgrounds and often shouted a gleeful, "Again!" It was this joy she found on swings and slides that inspired Kaitlin's Korner, a playground for children of all abilities at Gavin Park, Wilton.
The diagnosis of Late Infantile NCL, also known as Batten's disease, came just shy of her 4th birthday and was followed by 10 years of "Come Together for Kaitlin," a benefit hosted by the Eagles Club, Saratoga, and the Goat Brothers to offset the cost of Kaitlin's care. Our thanks to everyone who supported her and, we feel, contributed to Kaitlin exceeding life expectancy.
She will be deeply missed by grandparents Joanne Hahn (Dean), Don and Kat Clark, Marie Bowman, Robin (Susan) Bowman, Mary Ann Manning (John); great grandparents Don and Carol Clark, Arthur Gartleman, Irene Bills, Midge LeClair, Dorothy Antinore; Aunts Teri Bush (Jamie), Krissy Clark (Will), Emily Hahn (Jared), Jennifer (Stan) Janczak, Danika (Carlo) LaCombe, Jessi (Dre) Lewis, Kara (Jason) Lynn; and cousins Haylei and Colton Bush, Kaden and Tavin Lynn, Dezrah Van, Daeja Lewis, Jerumiah and Kaleah LaCombe; as well as great aunts and uncles. Grandfather Jeff Manning and Great grandparents Rosemary Gartleman and William Bills predeceased her.
Very special thanks to Pediatric Neurologist Charles Nichter, MD for his exquisite care as well as Pharmacists Steven Craig and Leigh McConchie and so many others who gave Kaitlin the very best of themselves.
