SARATOGA SPRINGS — Karen Stetkar, of Church Street, died on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by family and friends, at her residence. A lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Camarro) Stetkar. Karen was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, Albany Business College, and a communicant of St. Clements's Roman Catholic Church. Karen was a member of the Saratoga chapter of The Ladies of Charity, the Saratoga Civil Service Commission, and the Saratoga Springs Republican Committee.
Karen enjoyed a fulfilling career with the Adirondack Trust Company where she retired as a Financial Counselor in 2017 after 51 years of service. Along the way, Karen met her loving companion, Gerald (Jerry) Potter. Karen and Jerry complimented one another for over 40 years. The two could often be found attending area car shows and going on dinner dates. Karen also enjoyed the calm and peaceful feeling that came over her while cruising Lake George with Jerry. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed her family and friends immensely.
She is survived by her life partner, Jerry; cousins, Herbert (Mickey) and Robert Loeffler; and nephews, Adam, Alex, David, Grady, and Herb. Karen was predeceased by cousin David W. Loeffler and godmother, Jean Marie Ford.
Karen's family would like to extend a special thanks to the care and compassion that Laurie Ruggiero and her team of dedicated nursing staff provided Karen in her final year of life. Words cannot express how much their support meant.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at St. Clements's Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Joseph Pham. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter’s Cemetery on West Avenue. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Clement’s Church, prior to the Mass.
