Kingsbury, NY - Karen M. (Farmer) Taylor, 58, passed away on August 23, 2018 at home after a short aggressive battle with metastatic cancer surrounded by her loving daughters and son-in-law.
Karen was born October 23, 1959 in Troy, NY to the late Donald R. and Edith Farmer. She married her best friend and high school sweetheart David on November 5, 1977. Karen was a strong, loving and devoted wife who spent many years caring for her husband and children.
She was a graduate of Saratoga High School, class of 1977. She worked as a waitress for Spa City Diner in downtown Saratoga Springs for many years with her best friend, Clarice. She also worked at Saratoga Hospital in the cafeteria for the past 20 years with her other best friend, Marlana. Even in the beginning of her illness, she continued to work for months through the pain of her diagnosis. Karen was one of the hardest working women and always had a smile on her face, even on her worst days. Karen knew everyone at Saratoga Hospital, and everyone knew her. She was loved by so many people.
Karen loved the beach. She loved taking her vacations which most recently included a family trip to Disney, a trip to Las Vegas with her friend Kris, and Key West. She loved her family and taking her annual trip with her granddaughter Adalia to New York City to shop and attend the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular by the Rockettes. She was graced with 5 grandchildren who brought her the utmost joy, and their innocence and laughter brought her strength on her most difficult days.
Karen is predeceased by her husband, David W. Taylor, her father Donald R. Farmer, Sr., and her mother Edith Farmer (Holman).
Survivors include her two daughters; Tracy L. Sukhu (Parshram "Marvin") of Queensbury and Melissa A. Taylor (Eugene "Jack") of Kingsbury, her brothers; Donald R. Farmer, Jr. (Elizabeth), John Taylor and his wife Constance of Alabama, her nieces; Nicole Martell, Wendy Taylor-Nixon, Kristine Farmer, and one nephew Michael Farmer. She was known as Mimi, graced with 5 grandchildren who brought her the utmost joy; Adalia E. Hargett, Morgan R. Sukhu, Jackson E. Munger, Maddox T. Sukhu, and Noah J. Munger. She had many cousins and so many friends who all loved her so much. Karen was an incredible person and will be missed in so many ways by so many people.

A graveside service will be held at Maplewood Cemetery at 1pm on the following day, Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
