IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kathleen
Nokes
March 2, 1949 – September 9, 2021
Kathleen (Kathy) A. Nokes (Patterson) 72, of Saratoga Springs passed away after a long fight with lung disease Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
With the exception of a year in Honolulu while her husband Joe was in the US Navy, Kathy was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs. The daughter of Robert and Patricia Patterson, Kathy attended Spa Catholic High School in Saratoga Springs prior to joining the workforce and getting married to her husband of 51 years, Joseph (Joe) Nokes. Kathy and Joe lived in multiple residences in Saratoga Springs before settling permanently on Monroe St.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, particularly seeing her grandchildren Britni and Aiden. Kathy was inseparable from her dog Bandit, with the two sharing quite the bond. In addition to weekly Sunday dinners, the Nokes household was always open to family, friends, and the neighborhood; especially around the holidays and all summer long. Kathy took great joy in what became a twice a year tradition of watching her Miami Dolphins beat Joe's NY Jets.
Kathy is survived by her two children, Jody Carter (Travis) and Scott Nokes (Kim); grandchildren Britni Thompson (Brandon) and Aiden Carter; great granddaughter Aria Emigh; sisters Maureen McCormick (Stevie), Colleen Ball (Jim); brothers Bob Patterson (Joanna), Matt Patterson (Colleen), and Jerry Patterson (Jeanne); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was predeceased by her husband Joe and her brother Eddie Patterson.
Kathy's family would like to extend the deepest gratitude to her sisters Maureen and Colleen; and dearest friend Pat Atkins for assisting with her care after the passing of her husband Joe, allowing her to age gracefully in her house of 36 years. The family would also like to thank Dr. Desomnd DelGiacco for his service, care, and compassion over the past 20 plus years as he took great care of Kathy and always made her smile.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 pm to 7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N.
