Wilton, NY - Kenneth A. Kuba, 80, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2019 at his home in Wilton, NY.

At his request, no services will be held. He will be laid to rest with military honors at noon on Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.

Ken was born in Queens, New York on January 8, 1939 to the late Andrew and Anna Kuba. At the age of 17 he followed in his fathers and grandfather's footsteps by serving his country in the Anti-Tank Battalion of the US Marine Corps.

After leaving the Corps, Ken began working as a machinist before embarking on a lengthy career with the Metropolitan Transit Authority in New York City. Starting in bus maintenance, he advanced to mechanic and worked up to a Maintenance Supervisor before his retirement in 1991.

Since an early age, Kens had a love for fishing. Staring with salt water ocean fishing while residing in Queens and Long Island, and switching to fresh water fishing after to moving to Wilton in 2005. He also was a firearms enthusiast. He spent most of his leisure time collecting, researching and restoring old hunting and military rifles as a hobby.

Ken is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan, a sister Lois, two stepsons, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He possessed a deep love for his Country and was proud to be an American. He will always be remembered as a strong, loving, devoted and supportive husband, a role model father, and fun-loving Grandpa and "Pop-Pops".
