Saratoga Springs, NY - Kenneth D. Lantz passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 3, 2012. He was 88. Born on September 24, 1923, Kenneth was the son of the late Durward and Helen (Place) Lantz. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in mechanical engineering. Kenneth served in the Pacific Theatre as a captain in the US Army, 34th Engineer Combat Battalion, during WWII. He moved to Saratoga Springs in 1949 and worked for the General Electric Company for 40 years, working at the Main Plant and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, retiring in 1989. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn Anne Lantz. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Thomas D. and Andrea Lantz of Niskayuna, James E. and Gail Lantz of Venice, FL and Richard J. and Carol Lantz of Saratoga Springs; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Thomas, Carrie, Jeffrey, Patricia, Richard, Kenneth, Stephanie, Danielle and Andrea and 7 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8pm Thursday. Jan. 12, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Avenue. Burial will follow at 11:00am at the Gerald B.H.
