Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Kenneth F. Savard of Seward Street, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his residence. He was 73. Born on April 21, 1938 in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Kenneth L. and Helen (Brown) Savard. A 1956 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, he was a lifelong area resident and married to the former Marie E. Totten; together they raised their family in Saratoga Springs. He was a US Army veteran and later worked for the General Electric Co. in Waterford. A gunsmith and collector of guns, he was a member of the Wilton Rod and Gun Club and the Saratoga Springs Gun Club. Ken enjoyed watching the Late Show with David Letterman and his greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member of the Church of St. Peter on Broadway. In addition to his parents, Ken is predeceased by his wife, who died Sept. 27, 1993 and one brother. Survivors include two daughters, Christine (Mitchell) Richards of Corinth and Karen (Wayne) Alonzo of Hamlin, NY; one son, Kevin Savard of Saratoga Springs and six grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Friday, June 17, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway 584-5373. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway by the Rev. Matthew B. Wetsel, associate pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. Memorials may be made in his name to the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
