Obituary

Wilton, NY - Kenneth Augustus Tyler, passed away after a short illness, on Wednesday( Jan 13, 2010) at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was 76. Born on Jan. 11,1934 in Saratoga Springs, NY, he was the son of the late Rosalie Parillo-Rosser and Kenneth Augustus Tyler. He graduated in 1952 from Saratoga Springs High School and held many interesting jobs, including working in the mines at Tahawus until settling in as a machinist at Sandy Hill Corp. in Hudson Falls, NY, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He had a unique sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. Ken enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially getting together with his good friends and neighbors, Eddie Green, Leo, Joyce, and Pat. Ken was a loving father, caring brother and lifelong friend to many. In addition to his parents, Rosalie Parillo-Rosser and Kenneth Augustus Tyler, he was predeceased by his step-father, John Rosser. Ken's loving memory is survived by his three daughters, Kristin Lapointe and husband Michael of Wilton, Amy Tyler-Jones and husband Charles of Hudson Falls and Jackie Tyler and companion, Dan Bardon of Saratoga Springs; his best friend and companion of 21 years, Diana Villanueva of Manhattan and Saratoga Springs, NY. Ken adored his three grandchildren, Lisa Bates of Queensbury, Shane Jones of Hudson Falls and SPC Christopher Sargent and his wife Melissa of Fort Lewis, Washington; three sisters, Bernice Adams and husband Bob of Silver Spring, MD, Judith Fulmer and companion Mark of Victor, NY and Jackie Hayman of Manhattan; one brother John Rosser and wife Jennifer of Philadelphia, PA and many nieces, nephews and friends, including his special feline friend, Lucy. Ken was also blessed to be able to hold his first great grandson, Evan Christopher Sargent, son of Christopher and Melissa. The family is eternally grateful for the love and friendship that was shown to them during Ken's brief and dignified battle with cancer. He was always blessed to have so many friends that touched his life on a daily basis. Many thanks to the staff on tower 2 at Glens Falls Hospital, Dr. Gillani, Donna Boss, PA and a special thank you to our sister, Susan Allen, who took special care of dad during his short illness. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8pm Friday at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Saturday in St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Avenue. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. Donations instead of flowers may be made in his name to the Glens Falls Hospital Oncology Unit, Tower 2, 100 Park St., Glens Falls, NY 12801 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
