IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kevin J.
Wood
March 6, 1975 – November 23, 2022
Saratoga Springs, NY- On November 23, 2022, Kevin Joseph Wood left this earthly plane. He was taken from his loved ones by Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Kevin was born in Saratoga Springs to Dawn Marie Haskell and Kevin Michael Wood. He is predeceased by his father Kevin, and his beloved mother figure Andrea Gardner. He is survived by his children Dallas Wood, Zachary Wood, Devon Gardner-Wood and Riley Gardner-Wood, his partner Ashley Gardner, his brother Jason Wood (Susan), his nephews Christopher and Wyatt, as well as a multitude of friends and family members.
A lover of nature, Kevin spent many years fishing, hunting, and taking beautiful photographs. His favorite place was "the farm," and he loved to share it with friends and family. Kevin loved music, animals, long drives, and Stewarts iced coffee. He loved playing and coaching basketball, his fantasy football leagues, the Boston Red Sox, and watching all the sports he could consume.
Kevin had a presence that was truly larger than life. His warm smile, sly humor, unending kindness and generosity of spirit connected him with so many wonderful people throughout his life. Kevin loved children, and they flocked to him like the soothing teddy bear that he was. He loved his own children so deeply, and always hoped they would see their own innate value and learn from both his guidance and his mistakes to become the best versions of themselves. He will rely on those left behind to carry this torch for him and support them as they navigate the rest of their lives.
As the life of the party, Kevin was always up for an adventure, a good time and a lot of mischief. If there was a laugh to be had, Kevin was right in the middle of it all. At the same time, he was a wonderful listener and was often the one his friends would turn to for a caring shoulder. In his last years, Kevin became passionate about mental health, and making sure that men had spaces to connect with and support one another. One of his proudest achievements was forming a men's group that met regularly to create that for his friends, and he had visions of expanding it to include and help many others.
Please honor Kevin's memory by joining his friends and family for a Celebration of Life on December 11, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at 17 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Kevin's family pay for his final expenses. https://www.gofundme.com/f/8x74m-for-kevin?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1
