Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Lawrence William Gill passed away peacefully at the Home of the Good Shepherd on December 28 th , 2018 after a long illness.

Larry was born on June 30 th , 1938 in Bronx, NY to the late Lawrence and Marion Cunningham Gill. Born and raised in the Bronx, he attended Saint Helena High School. Larry enlisted in the Army in 1956 and was stationed in La Rochelle France. After returning from the Army, he worked in the Buildings and Grounds Department of The John F. Kennedy Home in the Bronx. Larry then attended Molloy College in Rockville Centre. He retired as the Building Commissioner for the Roman Catholic Diocese, after 30 years of service.

Larry met his wife Lucy in their late 20's. They were married in April of 1967 and spent 48 years together before her passing in March of 2015.

Larry was a huge sports fan and loved his New York teams. The Yankees, Rangers, Giants and Saint John's basketball were always on the TV. On those days when his teams weren't playing, he enjoyed a trip to the Racino or a few drinks with his friends at happy hour. No outing was complete without his nightcap of a glass of Bailey's Irish Cream.

In addition to his parents and wife Lucy, Larry was predeceased by his brother Jack.

Larry is survived by his son Kevin (Michelle) and his grandson Jordan.  He also leaves behind his brother Vincent, sister-in-law Dorothy and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all his doctors and the caregivers from Saratoga Hospital, Home of the Good Shepherd and Community Hospice of Saratoga for their care throughout Larry's illness.
