Corinth, NY - Leon Carl Paquette passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in St. Albans, VT on April 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Leon R. and Doris (Young) Paquette. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Peggy (Russell) Paquette.
Leon was a proud parent of 5 children and loved his family and friends very much. He had a huge heart and was a father figure to many, always available to assist anyone in need of help. Leon had a passion for wood working, spending countless hours in his woodshop making different crafts. He loved the outdoors, horticulture and collecting all kinds of memorabilia. Leon served his country in the National Guard during the Vietnam War from 1958-1961.
In addition to his parents, Leon is predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Bernard, Raymond, Duyane, Morris, Wanda, Bernice, Elizabeth Paquette, Geraldine Messier, Patricia McAllister and grandson, Joshua Allen.
Survivors, including his loving wife Peggy of Corinth, are his sister Sandra Shover; children Julie Paquette (Tom) of Gansevoort, Danny (Micki) Paquette of Amsterdam, Kathy Paquette of Corinth, Carl Paquette (Nicole Girard) of Stillwater, Carol (Leo) Ethier of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren Chase, Marisa, Kassandra, Jesse, Sean, Kira, Chris (Kristen) and great grandchildren Scarlett, Violet, Natalie, Alana and Alan.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service at 11am Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, (518-584-5373). All are asked to join the family to celebrate Leon's life between the hours of 1:00pm-5:00pm at the American Legion, 34 West Ave, (518-587-0236).
