Leonora Margretta Emery, 97 years old, of Saratoga Springs, NY passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 3, 2021 at Saratoga Hospital.

She was born in Jewett, IL on May 11, 1923 to the late Bertha and Theodore Callahan.  She graduated from High School in 1941 in Cincinnati, OH.  She was married to Lloyd E. Emery on July 1, 1945 in Ft. Jefferson, OH after meeting at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where they both worked during WW II.  They moved to New York State in the late 1950's and has been a resident of Saratoga Springs for the past 48 years.

She worked in the banking industry for over 3 decades starting in the mid 60's at Mechanics & Farmers Bank of Albany, The Bank of New York Albany as an Administrative Assistant and eventually served two bank presidents as their Executive Secretary.  When that bank was sold to TrustCo, she transferred there where she retired on July 31, 1986.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Albany, NY.  She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and loved watching and feeding her feathered friends.

In addition to her parents, Leonora was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd Emery.  She is survived by two sons; Michael Emery of Saratoga Springs, and Mark Emery of Indianapolis, IN., 5 grandchildren; Neil Emery of Macungie, PA; Christopher Emery of Stormville, NY; Colleen Brown of Corvallis, OR; Jason Emery of Holmes, NY; and Amanda Emery of Poughquag, NY, 8 great-grandchildren, 5 great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandson, and one step-great-grandson.  She also has 5 nephews and 2 nieces.

Due to Covid-19, no services are being scheduled at this time.  A memorial service will be held in the early summer.

We are very grateful for the wonderful care she received at Saratoga Hospital during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in her name.
