Wilton, NY - It is with deep sadness we inform you of the passing at home of our beloved husband, brother, father, grandpa, and great grandpa, LeRoy Arthur Berry, on Saturday, August 3, 2013 following his courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 28, 1937 in Fort Edward, NY he was the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth (Reaves) Berry. LeRoy was an honor graduate of Glens Falls High School, Class of 1955 and also graduated with High Honors from Adirondack Community College in 1979. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1957 where he proudly served his country for 20 years. On September 21, 1958, he and Sandra Gauthier were married at St. Mary's Church. After 20 dedicated years in the Research and Development Department, LeRoy retired from ESPEY Manufacturing, Inc. in 2000. LeRoy was a quiet, loving and caring man whose family was the light of his life. He enjoyed painting, reading espionage stories and drinking coffee. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Kristina, Ciara, Zachary, Alex, Chelsea and his great granddaughter, Arissa. In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by his stepmother, Marie and two brothers, Clifford and Eugene. Survivors include his wife, Sandy; a daughter, Pam and her husband Paul Smith of Glens Falls; a son, Patrick and his wife, Sharon of Saratoga Springs; his sister, Donna and her husband Dan Tindall of California; his sister, Linda and her husband Frank Granado of Maryland; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A special thank you to all the staff on Floor 3 of Saratoga Hospital for their compassionate care during his stay there, to the staff of Community Hospice of Saratoga and all who came to our home to help make his last days comfortable. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8pm Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30am Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 at the funeral home and burial with military honors will follow at 11am at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
