Wilton, NY - Lexie Lee Reeves of Ernst Rd. succumbed to a three year fight with cancer on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 48. Born on June 20, 1960 in Wiesbaden, Germany, she was the daughter of Wanda Menta and Joseph Guyton, Sr. Lexie was raised in the Dennison and Fort Worth areas of Texas. She was well-traveled as a result of her father's career in the Air Force including spending two years in Tehran, Iran. This daughter of the Texas flatlands had her doubts about adjusting to the northeast. Fortunately she grew to love New York and felt entirely at home here with a particular love of the Adirondacks. Lexie began working at Fay's Drug Store in 1983 and continued through its time as Eckerd's and Rite Aid. She loved to run, ski and bicycle and at one time, joined the Tour de Cure for Diabetes for a few years. Survivors include her loving husband, John C. Reeves and two daughters, Hannah Lee and Margaret Emma all of Wilton; her mother Wanda Menta of Washington, MI; her father and brother, Joseph Guyton Sr. and Joseph Guyton Jr., respectively, of Dennison, TX; three sisters, Gina Milana of Romeo, MI, Denise Yeater of Highland Village, TX and Kathy Elliott of Shreveport, LA as well as several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and close friends will take place Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 from 1 to 3pm at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A funeral service will follow at 3pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 3rd Floor Nursing Staff at Saratoga Hospital for their loving care of Lexie.
