Saratoga Springs, NY - Lila Edith Covell passed away Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 87. Born on January 29, 1924 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ella (Osborn) Dearborn. Lila attended Corinth High School. She was a lifelong member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed bartending for the club members. Lila was a foster grandparent and loved spending her time at the Greenburg Child Care Center at Skidmore College. In addition to her parents, Lila was predeceased by her husband Harry C. Covell who passed away in 1987. Survivors include her son, William (Debbie) Covell of Greenfield Center; three sisters, Gladys King of Corinth, Minnie Cormie of Chestertown and Alice Priester of Greenfield Center; three brothers, Earl, David (Jane) and Billy (Helene) Dearborn all of Corinth; one grandson, William E. Covell of Saratoga Springs; one granddaughter, Melissa Covell of Ft. Edward and two great-grandsons, Adam Whitaker of South Glens Falls and Kory Martin of Ft. Edward. Relatives and friends may call from 11am to 1pm Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). Funeral services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
