Obituary

Wilton, NY - Lillian B. Dawsey of Fieldstone Dr. passed away Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at Saratoga Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. Born on August 16, 1927 in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sabina Puchalski. Lillian was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Schenectady and worked in payroll for the General Electric Company for many years. She then dedicated herself to raising her children with her loving husband. She was a past President of the Rosary Society for St. Luke's Church in Schenectady and Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville. Lillian was presently a member of St. Clements Church on Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs. She volunteered for Saratoga Hospital for over 20 years, first in the ER and then as a member of the hospital guild. She was manager of the Guilded Flower Thrift Shop for 16 years. Lillian loved quilting, crafts, traveling and volunteering her time to benefit the community. She especially delighted in her grandchildren, supporting them in their various activities. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by six brothers: John, Leo, Edward, Stanley, Chester, and Joseph Puchalski. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, James L. Dawsey of Wilton; one son, James M. (Janis) Dawsey of Saratoga Springs; one daughter, Karen (Kent) Kalinkewicz of Glenville; four grandchildren, Justin and Amy Kalinkewicz and Kristopher and Kathryn Dawsey. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. by Rev. Francis E. Sullivan, C.Ss.R. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillians memory to Saratoga Hospital Care Foundation, 211 Church St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
