Saratoga Springs - Lillian C. Mihalek formerly of Walworth Street died on Sunday (Feb. 22, 2009) at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. She was 81. Born in Saratoga Springs on Feb. 11, 1928, daughter of the late Nelson and Helen (Butterfield) Bishop. Widow of the late Albert Mihalek who died in 1997. She was employed at the Gideon Putnam Hotel where she was a housekeeper. She loved Saratoga Springs and enjoyed passing the time sitting on her porch visiting with her neighbors. Much of her time was spent with her family and the company of her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Lynn (J. Robert) O'Rourke of Delanson, NY; four sons, Albert N. (Laurene) of Plattsburgh, Daniel J. (Cynthia) of Gansevoort, Alfred N. (Leslie) of Fort Johnson and Mark A. of Saratoga Springs; three sisters, Beverley (John) Busanowski of Gansevoort, Dorothy (Larry) Wilkins of Saratoga Springs and Beulah (William) Gilroy of Somerset, OH; three brothers, Clarence (Florence) Bishop of Saratoga Springs, Richard (Jane) Bishop of Titusville, FL, Martin (Jane) Bishop of Holt, FL; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, Nelson and Harvey Bishop. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday (Feb. 24) from 6-8:00pm at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00am. Burial will be in Greenridge Cemetery in the Spring.
