Saratoga Springs, NY - Louella A. (Draper) Williams of Saratoga Springs passed away as she lived her life with a smile on her face, Wednesday October 4, 2023, at the age of 93.

An artist, philosopher, writer, wife, mother and much more, Louella worked a variety of jobs in sales and marketing, yet her favorite times were spent reading a good book, sailing with her husband Jesse, and socializing with family and friends. Louella's laugh and smile were infectious and often shared with everyone she greeted.

The daughter of Lewis and Stella Draper, Louella was born in Ft. Wayne, IN, she moved with her parents and siblings, the late Gloria (Draper) Babel, Thomas Draper and Carol (Draper) Meritt to Tonawanda, NY during the Great Depression where she grew up, met her late husband Jesse, and had her five children Mary Lee, David, Steven, Kevin and Peter. The family moved to Ticonderoga, NY on Lake George where she loved painting in the country setting. In 1976 the family moved to her beloved Saratoga Springs, where she enjoyed all that it has to offer, Stewart's milkshakes, attending the ballet and concerts at SPAC, and of course the track.

She and Jesse (pre-deceased her on October 8, 2007) were married for 49 years and she is survived by her five children and her son-in-law, Rich Tierney and daughters-in-law Terri Williams, Diana Williams, Cindy Sarlo Williams and Suki Kramer. Louella's grandchildren are Lynn (Tierney) Morrison, Nina Williams, Maeve Tierney, Nick Williams, Jacqueline Williams, Rachel (Williams) Stemm, Steven W. Williams II, Dean Tierney, Sophie Williams, Jane Louella Tierney, Jesse Williams, Isobel Williams, and Fox Williams. Great grandchildren are Wesley Williams-Johnson, Frances Louise Morrison, Robin Draper Laue, and Owen Stemm.

She carried herself with character and dignity from beginning to end. And, of course, she was just so much fun. We will miss her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon, Friday, October 13, 2023 at the historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.

Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
