Obituary
Mechanicville, NY - Louis A. Mastropietro, Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital with his loving family at his side. Born in Troy on October 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Nunzio A. and Concetta (Simiele) Mastropietro.
Lou was a 1958 graduate of Mechanicville High School. In addition, he proudly served his country as a Specialist (E4) in the US Army. He loved his work and retired in 2016 from DePaul Housing. In his free time, Lou was often seen at Stewart's buying his dollar scratch offs and lottos. Above all else, Lou loved life and "he did it his way"!
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Carmine, Anthony, George, Donald, and Francis Mastropietro. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years Sharlene M. (Jones) Mastropietro; three sons Louis, Kevin, and Dean Mastropietro; one sister Shirley (Mastropietro) Dieckmann all of Mechanicville, as well two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call from 11am to 1pm Friday, Feb. 23, 2018 at All Saints on the Hudson, South, 121 North Main St., Mechanicville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm at the church by the Rev. Patrick Rice, pastor.
Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Inn, St. Peter's Hospital, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373).
