Greenwich, NY - Louise G. Landry, 79, passed away on February 24, 2014 at Saratoga Hospital. Louise was a loving wife and mother, and a remarkable woman of uncommon strength and serenity. Her warmth, generosity, intelligence, sense of humor, and strong faith were appreciated by all who knew her. Louise was born on September 17, 1934 in West Reading, PA. She was preceded in death by her father Charles L. Gordon, mother Ruth Miller Gordon, and husband, Dr. Ralph Hassler, of Reading, PA. Following high school in Reading, Louise attended Albright College and was co-founder of The Hassler Home in Reading when married to Dr. Ralph Hassler. She also operated Bohemia House B&B in Chesapeake City, MD. Louise was an avid reader, creative cook, accomplished bridge player and teacher achieving Bronze Life Master. She was also a Board Member of the Hudson Crossing Park. Louise was very active in the creation of the foundation and the ongoing development of the park. Louise is survived by her husband of 41 years, Harry "Chip" Landry and their ten children Gordon Landry of Chesapeake City, VA, Emma Tygert of Virginia Beach, VA, Gavin Landry of Brooklyn, NY, Treva (Jim) Weaver of Westerville, OH, Bianca (Allen) Slayman of Elkton, Maryland, Richard Landry of Greenwich, NY, Tory Landry of Menands, NY, Johanna Landry of Fayetteville, NC, Jesse Landry of Schuylerville, NY, and Malissa Landry of Schuylerville, NY. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Susan (Peter) Schmehl as well as seventeen grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, extended family and friends. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Thursday (Feb. 27, 2014) at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing and Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs 584-5373. Services will follow at 7pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am Saturday at the Hain's Church Cemetery, Wernersville, PA .
