IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynne
Holstein
July 23, 1945 – December 24, 2022
Edinburg, NY - Lynne Holstein passed away on December 24, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs at age 77 after an extended illness. She is predeceased by her parents Larry and Rae Holstein, and her younger son Jonathan Shenkin. She is survived by her son Todd, two granddaughters, and her loving partner of many years, Harry Wirtz.
A graduate of Parsons with a major in fashion illustration, she later received her B.S. in psychology from the College of New Rochelle. She worked as a freelance commercial artist, specializing in felt marker layouts for Westchester County clients and advertising agencies.
After moving to the southern Adirondacks with her partner Harry in 1998, Lynne spent years creating high-end hand painted silk scarves shown at arts and crafts fairs and various upscale galleries in the greater Saratoga area. Later, she illustrated a large assortment of fine art note cards. Like her scarves, her cards are highly regarded and prized. She loved talking with and seeing her friends, and filled many sketchbooks with ink drawings.
