Saratoga Springs, NY - M. Lorraine Chartier Chouinard passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 84.

Born on May 19, 1932 in Barre, VT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph I. and Orilla M. Chartier. She attended schools in Barre and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1951.  Lorraine married Fernand E. Chouinard on February 7, 1959, living in Plattsburgh and then moving to Morrisonville, finally settling in Saratoga Springs in 1970. She worked for Grand Union, Bi-right Grocery Stores and the Granite Savings Bank in Barre, VT and the Golden Krust Bakery, Hickory Farms and Sacketts & Matthews Hallmark Store, all in Saratoga Springs, retiring in 1994. Lorraine was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 498, serving as a Past Graduate Regent in Barre. She was a life member and past president and treasurer of the Maple Avenue Fire Auxillary Company 4, past president of the Ladies Auxillary to the V.F.W. Post 420, past president of the Hudson Mohawk Counties Council, past president of District 3 Ladies Auxillary and served on many chairmanships.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Fernand; one daughter, Amie Rose Chouinard; two brothers, Antione E. and Joseph E. Chartier and two sisters, Yvonne L. Bradley and Linda E. Lefebvre.

Lorraine is survived by three daughters, Kim (Thomas) DeGraw of Queensbury, Lynn Chouinard of Saratoga Springs and Dawna (Gregory) Miczek of Gansevoort; one son, Bryan Chouinard (Jill) of Saratoga Springs; one grandson, Andrew DeGraw; three granddaughters, Alexandra Chouinard, Kaitlin and Kristen Miczek; three sisters, Gloria Forrend, Bernice Dudley and Sandra Simpson; one brother, Richard Chartier and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8pm Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).

Graveside services will be at 11am Friday, St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
