Mechanicville, NY – Madeline A. Volpe passed away early morning on Friday, April 29, 2022 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by family.

Madeline was born June 14, 1941 in Mechanicville, the daughter of the late Joseph and Giustina "Irene" DelPrete Volpe. A true "Flag Day" baby she completely embodied American pride- whether it be through decorations in her home, clothing she wore, or organizations she supported. Known as the "$10 Lady", you couldn't enter her home without her asking for a donation for a good cause. Although she could be persistent, it was always driven by her extremely generous nature. The other thing that was sure to be noticed when going to visit her, was music. She loved her CDs… Cher, Celine, Toby Keith; you knew she was home before you got out of your car because you could hear it blaring from the dining room, where she was sitting at the table either playing on her handheld Solitaire game or doing her word search books.

Above everything, her family was her life. She may have had her little tricks to get you to stop in and see her, but you never stayed annoyed at her too long- as soon as you got there you knew it was simply because she loved you so much. Her grandchildren lit up her world. When she became a great-grandmother, she felt like she had won the lottery- which she often tried to do. She sent out enough "Publisher's Clearing House" submissions to keep them in business, always making it known, that if she won, she would use the money to take care of all of us.

Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her dear son Scott J. DeCelle and sister Lucielle A. Canary.

Madeline is survived by her children: Daniel J. (Debra) DeCelle, Frederick R. (Renee) DeCelle, Jr., Trisha Ann (John) Izzo, and David John DeCelle (Trina Carlton); grandchildren: Nicholas D. (Meredith) DeCelle, Allison (Eric) Connors, Stephanie (Eric) Nelson, Samuel (Liana) DeCelle, Maria, Amelia and Nicole Izzo; and great grandchildren: Cecilia and Natalie DeCelle, Max, Jane, and Simon Connors, and Daniella and Edward Nelson. She is also survived by her brother Frank (Carol) Volpe Sr., and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and loving friends- especially Ann Marie Erno and Scott Raucci.

Madeline's family would like to thank Lori Pitcheralle, Marie Marotta and Theresa Lenihan for the care they had given her over the years.
