Obituary

Malcolm R. Brill 5/6/33 - 1/24/26

Malcolm Richard Brill 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Pines in Glens Falls with his daughter and niece by his side. He was a loving husband and a caring father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.

Malcolm was born in Saratoga Springs on May 6, 1933 son of the late Clair Frances Brill and Lillian Mae Chapman. Malcolm grew up in Schuylerville and Saratoga. After graduating High School, Malcolm enlisted in the Air Force and later attended community college. Malcolm spent many years on the roads of America as a long haul trucker. After marrying in 1978, he and his wife Lila moved to Florida and Lila joined him on the road driving truck. When Malcolm retired from operating his own truck, he and Lila returned to New York where he worked as caretaker for a mobile home park. They spent many happy years together traveling and camping in their RV. Malcolm enjoyed any time spent with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Malcolm bowled in a league up until he was 90 years old. He enjoyed visits from old friends, playing cards, chats with his neighbors and car rides to take in the scenery. Malcolm was a member of the Rising Sun Chapter of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York.

Malcolm is survived by his daughters Melanie Degiorgis and her husband David, Heather Prenguber of Pittsfield, MA, and Elise O'Reilly of the United Kingdom and his sons Keith Brill of Pittsfield, MA and Leland Brill and his wife Patti of Saratoga Springs, NY; his stepdaughter, Lila (Sissie) Barry and her husband Scott of Dunedin. FL and stepsons Robert Plude Jr. and wife Jennifer of Frederick, MD, Kevin Jarvis and his wife Sabrina of Fort Valley, GA and Lester Jarvis and wife Nancy of Weirsdale, FL. Malcolm's large extended family includes many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Malcolm adored his sweet puppy Cassie who is now living with his niece Lisa DeForge.

Malcolm was predeceased by his wife of 46 years Lila Mallory Brill, his daughter Nanette Levy and his grandson Michael Stillwell of Largo, FL, his sons in law David Prenguber (Heather) of Pittsfield, MA and Thomas O'Reilly (Elise) of the United Kingdom and his stepsons William Jarvis (survived by wife Pearl), Harold (Pete) Jarvis, and Jeffrey Jarvis (survived by wife Lillian).

A special thank you to all the kind health care aides who took care of Malcolm and his wife Lila over the years offering your care, support and companionship.

A private family viewing will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial with Military Honors will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, February 5th, 2026 at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY. Please arrive at the cemetery by 2:20 pm.
